Vertical Church Band

Vertical Church Band

  • SALT Nashville 2014: Worship Leader

Vertical Church isn’t the name of a church. It is an idea. The idea that worshiping Jesus Christ is best done not when we just sing about Him or what He has done or what He will do in the future. The highest and best worship is modeled by what the angels do: sing to God about God. Vertical.

Vertical Church Band is a collection of people who play every week in places all over Chicagoland as part of Harvest Bible Chapel, a place that believes singing isn’t a warm-up for the sermon; singing is a warm-up for heaven. So the faces may change. The style may evolve. But the aim will stay the same. Vertical.

Nathan LaGrange

Nathan LaGrange

  • SALT Nashville 2014: Keynote

Nathan is pastor of a new adventure in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. City Community Church was started in 2009 but was birthed out of years of prayer and a desire to interact with the 13th largest city in the United States. “We wanted to re-introduce the Good News of Jesus Christ to the heart of the city as well as disciple people through the tension of living in a fallen world…to accept people for who they are but challenge them to become all God has created them to be. For People. For City. For God.”

Nathan joined SALT Nashville in our inaugural year and helped us understand the power of the One who called us into ministry through a powerful evening of contemplation, visual silence and reflection. As he poured himself out for our community, in light of the Love he has for The One, we were able to seek clarity on why we do what we do and where we expend our energy during the week.

Nathan and his beautiful wife Tricia have 3 children and have recently added a fourth through adoption in the Philippines.
